    Your current Smart Schedules won’t be transferred automatically. You can take screenshots of them to help you add them back in after switching.

  • 2. Delete your Home

    Delete your Home from your account in the tado° app. You can find more details on our support page.

  • 3. Create a new Home

    Now you can create a new home in the tado° app. You’ll add your tado° X devices as you install them.

  • 4. Install tado° X

    Installation is nice and simple - just follow the instructions in the app.

FAQ - everything you need to know about the switch

Do my existing tado° Smart Thermostats work with tado° X?

tado° X is not compatible with previous tado° product lines including tado° V3+. Previous tado° Smart Thermostats cannot be controlled together with tado° X in the same home.

What will happen with my tado° account?

To make the switch, you need to delete your Home. You can then use your existing account to create a new Home for your tado° X Thermostats.

I have subscribed to Auto-Assist. Will I lose my subscription?

No, your subscription will continue to work. You just need to reactivate it with a few clicks. To do this, simply go to the settings in your newly created tado° Home in the app. Go to "Auto-Assist" and click on "Restore purchase".

Is my heating system compatible with tado° X?

The Smart Thermostats X work with most boilers and almost all radiators. The prerequisite is that they use Relay or OpenTherm connections (this includes the vast majority). The Heat Pump Optimizer X tado° is compatible with many manufacturers and models of heat pumps.

Thread technology was developed to make it easier to interconnect your smart home devices, like a language they can all use to communicate with each other. Thread-enabled devices form their own robust network, which only requires one Thread border router, regardless of the number, type, or manufacturer of the devices.
