Do I need a Wireless Temperature Sensor?

You need a Wireless Temperature Sensor if you want more precise temperature readings in rooms that are large, or where the radiators sit far from where you spend your time.

A Smart Radiator Thermostat X measures the temperature right next to the radiator. For a proper temperature reading, put a Wireless Temperature Sensor X (2nd gen) in a central spot. It measures and controls the temperature from there. It also works as one manual controller for every Smart Radiator Thermostat X in the room.

What's new about the Wireless Temperature Sensor X (2nd gen)?

It's slimmer, just 17.8 mm, and redesigned with a matte-white finish. The battery is now rechargeable. You also get a new light ring for quick adjustments and an LED matrix display that shows the temperature and humidity together.

Can I install tado° on my own?

Yes. The Wireless Temperature Sensor X (2nd gen) doesn't require any wiring. Fit it to a wall or place it on a stand, then pair it with your Smart Thermostat X (2nd gen) or Smart Radiator Thermostat X using the tado° app. The app guides you through pairing step by step.

Will I have to replace the batteries?

No. The 2nd gen has a built-in rechargeable battery. Charge it before the heating season with a USB-C cable, and you're all set.

Is the 2nd gen compatible with my existing tado° X devices?

Yes. The 2nd gen works with all tado° X products, including 1st gen. It's not compatible with tado° V3+ or older devices.

What does the top button do?

Press once to wake up the screen. Press again for a shortcut of your choice: resume your schedule, boost your heating, or check the room's humidity.
