Is tado° compatible with my heating system?

The Wireless Smart Thermostat X is suitable for boilers or heat pumps that work with Relay or OpenTherm - most of them do. You can also use the included Programmer to manage your hot water schedules if your gas boiler or heat pump is connected to a hot water cylinder. You can find out whether tado° is compatible with your heating system in just a few seconds using our compatibility checker.

Can I install tado° on my own?

You can easily install tado° devices yourself, even if you're offline. The app has step-by-step instructions, customised to your heating system.

The Programmer connects directly to your boiler or heat pump and works as a Thread Border Router to connect tado° to the internet.

I'm buying tado° for the first time. Do I need a Bridge X?

No, you don't need a Bridge X with the Wireless Smart Thermostat X Starter Kit. The included Programmer already works as a Thread Border Router to connect tado° to the internet. However, you can buy an additional Bridge X to use as a signal amplifier if you have a larger home.

I already have tado° V3+ with an Internet Bridge. Is this compatible with tado° X?

If you already have tado° V3+ devices in your home, simply expand them with the V3+ Add-ons. tado° X products are not compatible with tado° V3+.

Can I control tado° using my smart assistant?

You can control all tado° devices easily using Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant and Apple Home.

Can I install tado° in my bathroom?

Yes, tado° X is suitable for installation in wet areas.

Can I return tado°?

Yes, you have a 14-day right of return following your purchase. In addition, we offer our Money-Back Guarantee, which allows you to return tado° X within the first year if you’re unhappy with the results.

Will I have to replace the batteries?

The Wireless Smart Thermostat X is equipped with 3 AAA batteries. tado° reminds you to replace them well in advance when the battery power is running low.

After a lengthy documentation I’ve decided to invest in a Tado X system with a wireless thermostat and programmer and a number of smart thermostats on my radiators. I can’t emphasise how happy I am to see it in place and working and the amount of features it gives me to use, from geofencing to windows open feature and most importantly each room has now a defined schedule for heating based on our home routines. 10 out of 10 .
